Dr. David Abbott grew up in Yankton, SD. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota in 1992. He then attended Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, graduating with honors in 1996. Following this, he completed a six year residency in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Chicago. This included a one year fellowship in research concerning nasal and sinus disease. After finishing his residency in 2002, he returned to his hometown of Yankton, where he has been in private practice ever since. He lives with his wife, Gina, and two children. When not working, Dr. Abbott enjoys golfing and playing the guitar.

Dr. Abbott has a special interest in diseases of the nose and sinuses, as this was the area of his research. He has extensive training in image guided sinus surgery, as well as newer procedures for sinus disease, including balloon sinuplasty. He also has a special interest in pediatric disorders, including ear problems, tonsillar disease and sleep apnea.
